Dr. Raiyan Islam joined the NY Physical Therapy & Wellness team in 2022 as the Clinical Director and a treating Physical Therapist in our Valley Stream office. Raiyan earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from NYIT. He is a Certified Personal Trainer and is working on earning his certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Raiyan previously worked as a personal trainer and home health aide, before pursuing his passion of physical therapy. His favorite thing about physical therapy is the personal connections made with patients while helping them achieve their rehab goals. He enjoys treating all kinds of patients including general orthopedic, joint replacements and sports injury rehabilitation. He has a particular interest in treating power lifters, since he enjoys the sport himself. His goal is to empower patients to take their health into their own hands and optimize their health and function.
