Dr. Marc S. Cohen is a specialist in Interventional Pain Management and Anesthesiology.
He received his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he did undergraduate research at the renown Yerkes Primate Center studying theories of addiction and pharmacology. He is also an alumnus of Georgetown University where he received an M.S. in Physiology and Biophysics at one of the strongest programs of its kind in the country. In 2009, Dr. Cohen attended Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. During his medical education he was involved in multiple research projects looking at mechanisms of knee pain and treatment for which he has been published in several journals. He also partook in volunteer missions to help assist under-served patients with medical needs.
Dr. Cohen completed a preliminary year in Internal Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He went on to complete the next three years of his residency in Anesthesiology at the same hospital taking care of thousands of patients and making sure they were safe during surgery. During this time, he learned advanced techniques in nerve blocks needed for surgery which can also be used to treat various pain disorders. It was during this time Dr. Cohen took an interest in Pain Management working with several respected specialists to publish articles in major journals focusing on post-surgical pain syndromes.
After Dr. Cohen completed his training in Anesthesiology, he went on to attend the renowned Mount Sinai Hospital for fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management. Dr. Cohen was able to work at one of the best programs in New York City to master skills needed to treat and prevent pain, helping patients who suffer from serious and debilitating pain syndromes return to their normal lives.

Dr. Cohen uses a mutlimodal approach to treat pain, using many different techniques to ensure his patient's can return to their normal daily lives. Among his set of skills includes: back pain management, nerve blocks, headache management, epidural injections, trigger point injections, joint injections, spinal stimulation, PRP (platelet rich plasma) therapy, radio-frequency ablation and more. His background has allowed him to have a deep understanding of the physiology and pathways that trigger pain.
